Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav launched a few hundreds of projects, on Monday, as the UP state assembly elections draw closer, The Economic Times reported.
He inaugurated 910 projects, laid foundation stones of 13 projects, distributed free laptops among 26,000 students, and gave cheques to 91, 125 beneficiaries of the Samajwadi Pension scheme.
Yadav has been going around launching the projects for a month now. On Tuesday, Akhilesh inaugurated hospitals, housing projects, swimming pools, a hockey stadium, roads and infrastructure across several districts, educational institutions and bus stations.
The opposition parties claimed that the projects are far from completion, with BSP supremo Mayawati ridiculing his momentum, calling him a “man in a hurry”. Alleging Akhilesh and his party of corruption, Union Minister Vijay Goel said, "To beat EC deadline, Akhilesh is launching incomplete projects.”
But the allegation did not demotivate Akhilesh, who said:
