In the aftermath of BJP MP Mahesh Sharma's remarks on Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, her husband Robert Vadra on Tuesday, 19 March, hit out at the BJP leader and called his remarks “misogynist.”
In a Facebook post, Vadra said, “Disgraceful remarks by the BJP ministers against women of our country… Get up people of India, act and revolt for the better and equal future for the women of our country. These misogynist remarks n thought process needs to be decimated n changed forever (sic).”
Sharma on 18 March received flak on social media after he referred to Congress leader Priyanka as “Pappu ki Pappi” and said nobody will listen to Mamata Banerjee even if she performs Kathak.
Sharma then attacked Rahul Gandhi and the “party’s dynasty politics.” That’s when the former made the comment on Priyanka Gandhi, saying she was no better than “Pappu.”
Sharma made the remarks while addressing a rally in Sikandrabad on Saturday, 16 March according to ANI.
Sharma was slammed for his comments, with people calling his remarks sexist and below the belt.
