A Dalit BJP MP, Chhotelal, in Uttar Pradesh has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi complaining against Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and other party leaders.
Chhotelal has alleged that he met Chief Minister Yogi twice but was “scolded and forced to leave”, reported PTI.
Chhotelal, who represents Robertsganj in Lok Sabha, expressed his anguish after his brother was voted out as the head of a block. He has claimed in the letter that the local BJP leaders have colluded with the rival parties and are working against him and his brother.
He also said that since he got no response for his complaints he also raised the issue with National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
In the letter, the BJP MP has alleged that he was threatened with a pistol by an opponent who used casteist slurs against him. He approached the police but the police didn’t file a case.
Chhotelal has appealed to PM Modi to protect the “honour of Dalit and adivasis”.
Reportedly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured him that action will be taken.
