The Bihar Election isn’t just about forming a state government, according to Sankarshan Thakur, Roving Editor of The Telegraph. Thakur, who has written political biographies of both Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar, feels that it is “battle for the realm” of Bihar for the two men who have ruled the state for over 25 years.
The election is also important for the BJP, with Amit Shah himself saying that the impact of the poll result will echo far beyond the state.
