Lalu Prasad Yadav cannot be chief minister of Bihar, or even contest an election because of his fodder scam conviction. However, he is keen on maintaining his political influence and pass on his legacy to his children, three of whom are interested in joining politics, feels Sankarshan Thakur, Roving Editor of The Telegraph.

Lalu, who has ruled Bihar for 15 years, may not be ecstatic about Nitish Kumar’s projection as CM, but he has made peace with it. What remains to be seen is how these two rivals get along during the elections and beyond.
