Addressing a rally in Kannur, Kerala, Shah said Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan was responsible for the violence in the state. BJP workers were victims of "political murders", he added.
As many as 120 BJP workers, 84 in Kannur alone, have been killed in the state since 2001. Fourteen people were killed in Kannur since the CPI(M) came to power last year, the BJP said on Monday.

The violence by the Left in Kerala is a "blot on Indian democracy", Singh said, while taking part in the protest.
The violence is not only against the BJP but also against other political parties that believe in democracy, Singh said.
He also urged other political parties to pay heed to the violence allegedly perpetrated by "the Communists in Kerala".

The Delhi BJP will also take out a march in the national capital tomorrow against political violence in the Left-ruled Kerala and stage a demonstration in front of the CPI(M) office, the party said.
Manoj Tiwari, the president of the Delhi BJP, would lead the march, said a statement issued by the party.
The protests, sit-ins and demonstrations would be held across the national capital till 16 October, the statement said.
BJP national vice-president Shyam Jaju and Union minister Jitendra Singh would also take part in the protest in front of the CPI(M) office near ITO tomorrow, it added.
UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be visiting Kerala on Wednesday to take part in BJP's Jan Raksha Yatra in Kannur.

Three BJP workers were attacked by suspected CPI(M) workers in Neeleswaram town in Kasargod district on Monday night, the police said.
The attack came ahead of the launch of the Jan Raksha Yatra by the saffron party.
The attack took place around 9:30 pm when BJP workers were decorating a part of the National Highway-66 for the 15-day march, which will be launched by BJP chief Amit Shah.
The three injured BJP workers were being treated at a private hospital in Neeleswaram, the police said.
A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
Flex boards, tube-lights and a two-wheeler were also damaged, he said.
CPI(M) cadres, who cannot tolerate the "growing political influence" of the BJP in the state were indulging in such attacks, he alleged.
