Akhilesh Yadav is the more popular choice among voters for the chief ministerial post in comparison to Samajwadi Party supremo and his father Mulayam Singh Yadav and uncle Shivpal Yadav
This has emerged in a C-Voter-Huffington Post survey. Another poll carried out by HuffPost a month ago had also seen Akhilesh emerge more popular than his father and uncle.
Among the questions asked to survey participants was who they they think is more popular between Shivpal Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. While in September 77 percent of those surveyed had gone with Akhilesh, the number went up to 83 percent in the latest poll.
On the other hand, Shivpal Yadav’s ratings came down to 6.1 from 6.9 percent.
In comparison to Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh’s number saw a significant increase from 67 to 76 percent while the former’s numbers went down from 19 to 15 percent.
The improvement in Akhilesh’s performance in both of these cases comes from a shift from those voters who had chosen “None of the Above” or “Can’t Say” in the September poll.
The poll results have shown Akhilesh to be popular among post-graduates and professionals. However, it is interesting to note that the report pointed out that even among aged above 55 years, 70 percent supported him.
On Thursday, Akhilesh released his campaign video amid the ongoing family feud within the Samajwadi Party.
