AIADMK Workers Attack MP Sasikala Pushpa’s Husband, Lawyers

The incident happened a day before the party’s general council meeting that would elect party’s general secretary.

In a violent clash, suspended AIADMK MP Sasikala Pushpa’s husband and lawyers were attacked outside the party office in Chennai by party workers on Wednesday.

Her husband Lingeswara Thilagan, along with four lawyers from Sasikala's team, had gone to the AIADMK headquarters to submit her nomination papers for post of party general secretary, reports Times of India.

I have been searching for my husband since morning, he has been brutally attacked. Till now I do not know where he (husband) is. It is a human rights crisis.

One of the lawyers can be seen being brutally beaten up by angry AIADMK workers in the visuals from the scene. The bloodied man was taken away from the mob by the police.

Expelled Rajya Sabha MP Sasikala Pushpa had filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court, asking for judicial inquiry into Jayalalithaa’s death.

She also hit out at Sasikala Natarajan, Jayalalithaa’s closest aide. This came within days of it becoming clear that Natarajan will take over the reins of AIADMK.

The incident took place a day before the party's general council meeting that will be held to elect the party's general secretary.
