The north-eastern state of Manipur could be next in line for political chaos after Congress lost Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand to dissidence and internal party strife, reports Hindustan Times.

The threat to Okram Ibobi Singh’s government has apparently been averted, but only temporarily, says the report.

Not only the rebels but a section in the party also primarily hold central leaders responsible for the growing dissidence in states, especially those ruled by it...As the Congress is facing dissidents across the country, it remains to be seen how the central leaders handle the situation and avoid the repeat of Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
