Brother ‘Honour’ Kills Sister After Alleged Rape in Pak’s Gujrat

A girl was murdered by her brother on Thursday in Gujrat, Pakistan after she was allegedly raped by their landlord’s son, reported Geo TV.

The family of the victim claims that the police insisted that they “settle” the issue with the accused and did not want file an FIR.

The mother of the victim claimed that she was beaten up by the police for insisting that they file an FIR, and instead “forced” her to settle the issue with the accused’s family.

As the case remained unresolved, the victim’s brother, in a state of rage and in the name of ‘honour’, slit her throat.

While the Gujrat police did not mention the name of the police officer who delayed the filing of FIR, it has been reported that the landlord’s son and three others have been arrested in relation to the rape.
