A Kiran trainer aircraft crashed in Telengana’s Sidipet after its attempts at an emergency landing failed. The cadet on board escaped unscathed, having managed to eject successfully and on time.

The cadet was undergoing fighter training when the trainer aircraft took off from Hakimpet Air Force station. Attempts at making an emergency landing failed, leading to the crash.

A court of inquiry has been ordered to look into the purported cause of the crash.

This accident comes two months after a similar accident occurred near Hyderabad after a technical snag was detected on an trainer aircraft, incidentally a Kiran. According to Mumbai Mirror, the pilot then too had ejected safely from the aircraft, having earlier sensed the snag, and escaped unhurt.
