The Madras High Court on Thursday stayed the ‘lookout’ circular issued against Karti Chidambaram and four others in connection with a corruption case filed by CBI.
Karti is the son of senior Congress leader and former union minister P Chidambaram.
The CBI wanted to examine him in connection with a Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) clearance given to media group INX Media for receiving funds from Mauritius, when his father P Chidambaram was the Finance Minister.
It is alleged that a firm “indirectly controlled” by him received money from INX Media, run by Indrani and Peter Mukerjea.
The agency had issued summons to Karti and four others for questioning on 27 June and 29 June, but they did not turn up.
(More details awaited.)
