Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s husband Robert Vadra, who is embroiled in an Enforcement Directorate (ED) case took to Facebook to wish the women in his life, on International Women’s Day on Friday, 8 March.
He wrote that he wished India became a safe and secured country for women to achieve their dreams.
Vadra is embroiled in an Enforcement Directorate (ED) case in which he has been accused of money laundering in the purchase of a London-based property at 12, Bryanston Square worth GBP 1.9 million (British pounds), which is allegedly owned by him.
In his post, he said that he will celebrate the day with his family when he is back from the ED interrogation.
Prime Minster Narendra Modi took to Twitter to convey his wishes on International Women’s Day.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that her government will launch the Swasthya Sathi health insurance smart cards, which will be given to the women member, recognising them as the head of the family.
Delhi Congress Chief Sheila Dikshit, meanwhile, said that every day was Women’s Day.
