An adoption drive is being held for ‘retired’ military dogs at Select Citywalk mall, Saket, on Saturday. The idea is to find homes for these unsung heroes who spent most of their life helping the Indian army and other security forces.

Often, after they become old and are not able perform their duties, they are either euthanised, abandoned or left in huge farmhouses where there’s no one to take care of them.

There’s a plus point to adopting these bravehearts

Obviously, they’ll be extremely well-behaved and trained, so you don’t have don’t have to go mad trying to ‘tame’ them. Also, can you ask for a better guard dog than these military veterans? And, of course, it goes without saying that dogs are great companions.

After years of service, the least they deserve is a loving person or a family to look after them.

So ahead, get yourself a well-trained pet and guard dog. And also do your bit for our canine former soldiers!
