The Noida-based IT executive, who allegedly took his own life after two women colleagues accused him of sexual harassment, wrote in his suicide note that the allegations against him were baseless but everyone would still look at him "with a bad eye."

Swaroop Raj was working as an assistant vice president at Genpact – a professional services firm with offices in various countries. Hailing from Kerala, he was living in the National Capital Region for the past few years.

11 Years at Genpact

According to Swaroop's LinkedIn profile, he had joined Genpact as a Process Developer in September 2007, and had held various positions. He was an assistant manager and a senior manager before being made the assistant vice president in September 2018.

Swaroop had received his Masters in Business Administration degree from Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation.

‘Live Life With Respect’: Swaroop’s Suicide Note to Wife

On 18 March 2017, Swaroop married Kriti Srivastav Raj, a native of Uttar Pradesh whom he had met while working at Genpact. In a suicide note addressed to his wife, Swaroop said that he wanted her to “be strong and live (her) life with whole respect.”

The note read:

“I want to let you know how much I love you. I have been accused by two employees of sexual harassment and, trust me, I didn’t do anything. I know the world will understand it, but you and our families should trust me. The allegations are baseless and the entire Genpact will know about it. Hence, I don’t have the courage to face everyone. I want you to be strong and live your life with whole respect, as your husband has not done anything. I am going as everyone will look at me with that eye even if I come clean (sic).”

Swaroop’s Facebook profile, which has now been made into a legacy page, features several photos of him with his wife.
