The national capital's temperature at 11 pm on Monday, 30 May, was recorded as 31 degrees Celsius, with a maximum of 39 degrees Celsius during the day and a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius, as per The Weather Channel (TWC).
The mercury was brought down due to heavy rains and thundershowers across Delhi NCR on Monday.
Uttar Pradesh faced high temperatures with Banda touching 41 degrees Celsius, though the capital city of Lucknow remained at 38 degrees Celsius. The mercury in Noida reached a high of 39 degrees Celsius on Monday, as per TWC.
Meanwhile, Gurgaon's maximum temperature was at 39 degrees Celsius, compared to an expected temperature of 41 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature, on the other hand, was 28 degrees Celsius.
The mercury in Rajasthan, however, soared to 43 degrees Celsius with the peak in Jaisalmer, 41 degrees Celsius in Jaipur and 42 degrees Celsius in Sri Ganganagar.
Gujarat's Ahmedabad also witnessed a high of 42 degrees Celsius on Monday.
The monsoon had reached Kerala on Sunday, three days ahead of its onset date of 1 June, and was thus kept under a 'yellow watch' by IMD.
"Widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning are forecast across Kerala over the next five days, along with isolated heavy falls till 1 June," the TWC said.
Rainfall is also likely over the Northeast, Mahe, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the next three days.
