Twenty three-year-old Nishita Rajput had her task cut out when she along with her father decided to mobilise funds for the education of underprivileged girls in Vadodara. Its been 4 years since she set out on her mission and the progress is there for all to see.

Fortunately for Nishita, her noble cause had many takers. Help seems to be pouring in generously with several people committing to her mission.

Nishita set out with a target of collecting 351 cheques in 2011. She crossed the mark and over 400 cheques landed at her door step. The number rose considerably in a year to 700 and spiked further in 2014, when she had a 1000 contributors.

This year Nishita has set the bar higher. She now wants to collect at least 5,100 cheques by the end of 2015.

So far, the father-daughter duo have managed to raise funds without any help from the Government. With their patrons spread across the globe, the mission to educate underprivileged girls is expected to get a boost in the years to come.
