About a year after a dog was thrown off the second floor of an apartment building by two medical students in Chennai, another similar incident has surfaced on Facebook. A video showing two men strangling a dog with ropes and dragging him down a flight of stairs has gone viral on social media.
The two men are seen dragging a black dog down a flight of stairs and out of the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) campus premises, with ropes round its neck, while the dog struggled to free itself.
These two men were a part of the dog-catching squad of the Tambaram municipality in Chennai, reported NDTV.
Further reports say that the dog collapsed and died long before they could even reach their van.
Blue Cross member Dawn William filed a police complaint against VIT, Vellore and the municipality. He told NDTV that the college campus does not come under the civic body’s jurisdiction and it is still not known as to what they were doing in the campus.
The university authorities weren’t available for comments.
