After a lot of viral videos and memes poking fun at a young addict went viral, another video surfaced with purportedly the same boy claiming to have reformed his ways and joined school.

The boy, Kamlesh, originally featured in the documentary Nashebaaz - The Dying People of Delhi. Directed by Dheeraj Sharma, the documentary was based on the roadside drug menace in Delhi.

The memes and parody videos of Kamlesh that followed led to a furore across social media over the insensitivity towards the issue.

However, when a video showed the boy in a school uniform, it was shared across multiple social media platforms, including Sarcasamistan.

But as it turns out, the video is fake.

While speaking exclusively to The Quint, Sharma completely refuted any possibility of the boy in the video being Kamlesh. He also expressed his disappointment over the insensitivity towards the cause.

I got to know about the fake video yesterday. The boy cannot be Kamlesh because the documentary was shot years ago. There are insensitive people out there. They are pathetic. It was so horrifying... the memes that they were coming out with.

Sharma also said that he had a meeting with certain MPs and concerned authorities over the issue and hopes some action will be taken soon in this regard.
