Right-wing groups Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal approached the Bengaluru Police on Wednesday, to have Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali’s concert in the city cancelled.

The fringe groups have written to the city police to cancel the Pakistani singer’s performance scheduled for 30 September.

The move has come after the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) threatened to drive Pakistani artists out of India in the light of Uri attacks, in which 18 soldiers were killed.
