The website of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) was reportedly hacked late on Monday, 10 September. The screenshots of the website shared by several users on Twitter showed an image of the popular cartoon character Doraemon and a heart, accompanied by two captions saying, "Doraemon!!!!!!! Pick up the Call" and "I.M.STEWPEED".

The website, however, was later restored in the morning on Tuesday. It's not known yet as to who was behind the hack.

The website's content is managed by UPSC itself, and not the National Informatics Centre (NIC), which manages various other government websites, reported Livemint.

Several people reported the hacking on social media.

In April this year, the Supreme Court's website was allegedly hacked by a Brazilian group when the court was hearing the Judge BH Loya case.

The Defence Ministry's official website was also hacked in April, while nine other government sites, including that of the Home Minister crashed in no time. But the government said it was all due to a "process of technical upgradations".
