Former Union minister E Ahamed passed away after collapsing in Parliament early on Tuesday morning.

As Finance Minister Arun Jaitley readies to present Union Budget 2017-18 on Tuesday, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge told the media that the Budget should be postponed “by a day”.

“In our opinion, including JDU leaders and former PM Deve Gowda, the Budget should be postponed. Budgets are presented in March so they (Centre) still have time,” he said.

He also said: “ I think the government already knew that he had passed away, but they were trying to maybe delay announcement.”
