Rohtak: Gangrape Survivor Raped Again by Same Men, Three Arrested

The accused are allegedly the same five men who raped her three years ago in 2013.

On the backfoot after a 20-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly gang-raped by the same accused who had gang-raped her three years back, the Haryana police on Tuesday said that three of the five accused have been arrested.

The men, who are out on bail, ‘punished’ the woman for pursuing the case in court, according to the survivor’s family.

They forced her into the car, drugged her and raped her while she was unconscious and dumped her in the bushes once they were done, the police said.

The victim’s family told the police that she had gone to college on Wednesday morning and did not return. She was later found in an unconscious state near Sukhpura Chowk on Wednesday night with her clothes torn, after which she was rushed to Rohtak Civil Hospital.

Family Fled Earlier House In 2013

After being allegedly threatened by the accused to take back the complaint in the Bhiwani incident, the survivor’s family had shifted to Rohtak, the woman’s mother told the police.

We used to live in Bhiwani before. After the incident we fled to Rohtak to save ourselves from these men. I wanted to educate my children.

The woman registered a complaint and is now recovering in a government hospital. A police officer confirmed that an FIR will be filed in the matter. The police in the region are looking for the accused in Bhiwani.

The victim has told us that she was kidnapped by the accused when she was standing at the college gate on Wednesday. She told us that they took her away in their car and raped her. The victim has said that the five accused are the same who raped her in 2013...We have sent teams looking for the accused in Bhiwani. We are hopeful of early arrests in the case.

Khatri said that the 21-year-old rape survivor was in a stable condition.

Survivor’s Family Threatened

The five men, all from an upper caste, were threatening the family to settle a negotiation worth 50 lakh, the brother of the woman said. However, the brother has demanded justice in the form of death for the accused.

I came out of college and there were those very five men in the car. Three were inside and two of them were outside.
