Three Women Killed After Water Tanker Runs Over Them in Chennai

  • Three women students in Chennai died after being run over by a water tanker. The driver fled the scene.
  • The women were rushed to the Government Royapettah Hospital but succumbed to their injuries. Four others were also injured in the accident.
  • The three have been identified as Chitra, Gayathri and Ayesha. While Chitra, Gayathri were second year B. Com students, Ayesha was in her third year of the same course in Chellammal Women’s College.
  • The accident triggered protests from locals which resulted in a traffic jam on the route connecting Guindy and Little Mount.
