Kerala BJP VP Loses Eye After Bloody Clash With Cops at Protest

BJP activists were present to support the students of Law Academy protesting against their principal.

Kerala’s BJP Vice-President PP Vava was brutally injured and lost an eye after police resorted to lathicharge at Kerala Law Academy students’ protest in Thiruvanathapuram on Tuesday.

According to Gulf News, the students were demanding their principal Lakshmi Nair’s resignation. They complained against her alleged high-handedness and even accused her of racial abuse.

The BJP activists were present to support the students at the march which then took a violent turn. Police used water cannons and tear gas which injured several people. Even police vehicles were damaged during the scuffle.

The CPI(M) State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishna accused the BJP saying that the students fell into their “trap”.
