Delhi Terror Alert: Taxi Hired in Pathankot Missing, Driver Dead

A car hired in Pathankot is missing and the driver has been found dead. A terror alert has been issued in Delhi.

The Delhi Police has raised a terror alert over a white Alto taxi (licence number HP 01D 2440) that was hired in Pathankot and has now gone missing. It has been learned that three unknown people hired the car in Pathankot.

The driver, Vijay Kumar from Gaggal in Himachal Pradesh, was found dead on Wednesday, 20 January.

Delhi Police released images of the suspects captured from a CCTV camera.

Security has been stepped up in the Delhi ahead of Republic Day. The Delhi Police and the NSG on Thursday conducted two mock drills in South Delhi’s Hauz Khas village and Khan Market areas.

Bomb disposal squads, quick response teams, emergency response vehicles, dog squads, fire tenders, ambulances etc were kept in the loop during the exercise, whose prime objective was to check the alertness of the security forces amid a high alert situation.
