Sonepat: Student Kills Teacher Who Scolded Him for Harassing Girl

The teacher was shot dead in a government college in Sonepat.

An English teacher was shot dead allegedly by a second year BA Student in front of his daughter in Sonepat, Haryana on Tuesday, Hindustan Times reported.

The teacher was shot dead in a government college in Sonepat.

The teacher, Rajesh Malik had arrived the Dalbir Singh College in Pipli village with his daughter when the accused, identified as one Jagmal Singh opened fire on Malik and fled. Malik was shot four times and was declared dead at the hospital, according to the Hindustan Times report.

A clerk in the college said that Malik had scolded the accused some time back for harassing a girl in his class. The police further claimed that an assistant professor at the college had instigated the accused into committing the murder as he had got in a fight with Malik recently, HT further reported.

Both the accused Singh and the assistant professor have been booked on charges of murder and of criminal conspiracy respectively. However, no arrests have been made yet.
