A Kolkata-based Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employee has been sacked by the company, after he reportedly used social media to send rape and death threats to two women.

Screenshots of these highly abusive and expletive messages soon went viral on social media – Twitter and Facebook especially – following which TCS decided to launch an investigation, The Economic Times reported.

Singh addressed this message to a 19-year-old woman in Assam, who reportedly filed a police complaint against him in Kolkata. She told the newspaper that Singh had apparently sent her the abusive messages after he saw some of her posts which were critical of the government.

Singh had sent another expletive message to another woman, threatening to kill her son and husband, and sexually assault her.

Once the screenshot of these messages began to make the rounds on social media, Singh was quick to delete all his social media profiles.

Taking note of the situation, TCS, after sacking Singh, told The Economic Times:

At TCS, we have zero tolerance towards any act which goes against our core values. The employee has been relieved with immediate effect.
