The Supreme Court, on Monday, denied bail to self-styled godman Asaram Bapu, who has been accused in sexual assault cases. He sought bail from the apex court on health grounds.
The SC, while refusing to modify its earlier order that had declined him interim bail, said that the instant plea is devoid of merit and hence, dismissed.
It also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Asaram for filing forged letters of Jodhpur Jail Superintendent on his health condition in the court, say media reports.
