Here’s to a healthy life. Cheers!

25 Years of Aashiqui: Then and Now

Silver Jubilee of Aashiqui

Exactly 25 years back on July 23rd 1990, Mahesh Bhatt’s Aashiqui released across India and went on to become a smash hit, largely because of its music. The chartbusting soundtrack of Aashiqui was courtesy a relatively new music director duo - Nadeem Shravan. The film also brought together a rather unusual pair, a floppy haired, scrawny Rahul Roy and a dusky, impish looking Anu Agarwal. 25 years later, the music of Aashiqui continues to be just as catchy and popular but the team which made the film and the music such a grand success did not share the same longevity.

Remember that scene in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, where Farah Khan (Shirin) accidentally eats her engagement ring? Well, that was pure farce; but much else in the film touches on the real predicament of the Parsis. This disproportionately successful Indian community is on the wane.

Demographically speaking, the Parsis are a complete anomaly in India. Click the link above for more.

India’s Epic Facepalm Moments that Remind us of Manoj Kumar

We guarantee you a Facepalm moment.

Manoj Kumar has been a big name in the Hindi film industry, but he’s remembered more for being the creator of the facepalm! Hey, but thanks to him, we can mock some of our celebs and politicians, who say and do some pretty daft stuff.
