Sri Lankan Navy Captures 8 Indian Fishermen, 1 Boat Off TN Coast

  • On Thursday, the Sri Lankan Navy apprehended 8 Indian fisherman and one boat in the south of Dhansukodi. An investigation is underway in Talaimannar, Sri Lanka.
  • The Lankan Navy earlier in the day captured 13 Indian fishermen along with two boats in the sea area north of Delft Island.
  • Taking up the matter with PM Narendra Modi, Chief Minister E K Palaniswami, in a letter, said the state government was "extremely" concerned over such incidents and sought Centre's intervention into the matter.
