Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Thursday, 17 January, said that the rise in popularity of the party after the announcement of alliance with the Samajawadi Party (SP) has created unrest among some parties and leaders.
As she addressed a presser on Thursday, the BSP supremo said that instead of fighting by fair means, the parties are making absurd comments against the two allies.
The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister took on the allegations of nepotism levelled against her and announced that she will make her nephew, Akash join the BSP "movement" and give him a chance to learn the ropes.
"I will make Akash join the BSP movement and give him a chance to learn," she said.
Mayawati also launched an attack on "casteist and anti-Dalit" media for raising the issue of nepotism. She said that she was a disciple of Kanshi Ram and would give them a befitting reply.
"If anyone has problems with that, so be it," her party does not care, Mayawati said.
She also said that despite supporting her and the party since 2003, her brother Anand J+Kumar and his family never sought party position.
