PM Modi, South Korean Prez Moon Inaugurate Mobile Factory in Noida

Set up by Samsung, the mobile factory in Noida is reportedly the largest in the world.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and South Korean President Moon Jae-in inaugurated the Samsung Electronics facility in Noida on Monday, 9 July.

The two leaders travelled in the Delhi Metro to Noida, where Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was scheduled to join them.

The dignitaries boarded a train on the Blue Line route connecting Dwarka to Noida City Centre around 4.30 pm at the Mandi House station and alighted at the Botanical Garden station around 5 pm.

Jae-in to Hold Discussion on Economic Cooperation

Jae-in is on a four-day visit to India. He was received by Minister of State for Home Affairs VK Singh on his arrival in New Delhi on 8 July.

The South Korean president is in India to hold bilateral discussions on economic cooperation.

Having been invited by Modi, Jae-in will also meet President Ram Nath Kovind on his first visit to the country, the statement from the South Korean president’s office said.

South Korea's presidential Blue House added that India is becoming a crucial partner for Seoul not only in terms of the economy, but regarding its plans for peace and prosperity on the Korean peninsula as well.

South Korea established formal ties with India in 1973.

After his visit to India, Jae-in is scheduled to visit Singapore from 11 July to 13 July, the Blue House said. He is also scheduled to give a speech on his vision and policies for permanent peace on the Korean peninsula as well as cooperation with Asian countries in the region.
