A Jet Airways flight on the verge of landing hazardously tilted left side and dug into the runway while landing at the Khajuraho airport on Monday.
Officials claimed that the accident was due to a malfunction in its left wheel.
A total of 62 on-board passengers, mostly tourists, and four members of the flight’s crew exited from the emergency doors. No one was reported injured, as informed by airport director .
Satish, a Delhi-based tourist , who was on board the plane, said it landed with a huge sound, got tilted on the left side and began to drag on the runway. He said the plane halted after some distance and the passengers exited from the emergency doors but all were visibly terrified, as reported by the Hindustan Times.
A team of technical experts arrived of the airlines from Delhi to investigate the incident and the exact technical cause of the reported wheel failure, in addition to haul the aircraft off the runway.
However, sources said some flights might get affected on Tuesday also if the aircraft was not taken off and the runway repaired.
