Citing the forensic report claiming that meat found at the house of Mohammad Akhlaq was of “cow or its progeny”, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHU) leader Surendra Jain demanded apology from the Uttar Pradesh government.
58-year-old Mohammad Akhlaq was woken from his sleep on 28 September by an angry mob. They first went for his refrigerator, found some meat, then resorted to abusing, and finally picked up some bricks from under his bed to smash his skull.
Jain accused the Akhilesh Yadav-led government of “going soft” on Muslim outfits.
He also attacked Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and all those who had returned awards in the fallout of the Dadri lynching incident.
He claimed the entire process was used as a tool to portray Hindus and Hindu organisations in a bad light as the entire Hindu community was labelled intolerant and demanded an apology from the UP government for defaming and tormenting the Hindus on this issue.
