The Supreme Court on Thursday heard a PIL seeking a ban on foreign websites which solicit couples to undergo pre-natal sex determination tests.
Sabu Mathew George filed the PIL in 2008, complaining that such content is banned under Indian laws.
The bench refused to accept arguments by Google, Yahoo, Microsoft that doing so was a violation of right to information of people and said a nodal agency is to be alerted when people solicit such information.
