The Supreme Court refused urgent hearing of a PIL seeking independent probe into the alleged suicide of ex-Arunachal CM Kalikho Pul, on Friday.
Pul’s suicide note has caused quite a stir for alleging that the sitting Chief Justice of India, President Pranab Mukherjee and other politicians indulged in corrupt practices.
Days after "withdrawing" her petition to Chief Justice of India Justice JS Khehar, late Arunchal Pradesh chief minister Kalikho Pul's first wife approached the offices of Vice-President Hamid Ansari, demanding a probe at the "highest level" into charges of bribe-taking by the two topmost judges of the Supreme Court.
Speaking to The Quint, an unsparing Dave said that the “repeated acts of the CJI, first in shifting Ms Pul’s application seeking an investigation to Court No. 13 and then taking up today petition, will certainly bring the Supreme Court’s reputation and goodwill to disrepute”.
