The holy month of Sawan began with lakhs of devotees going on the Kanwar Yatra to offer the holy water to Lord Shiva. This pilgrimage is done every year in order to seek his blessings.
However, roads can get really crowded during this time of the year and there are often instances of long traffic jams and mishaps on the roads, disrupting the festivity.
Thus, in order to avoid such accidents from happening, Traffic Police of different regions gear up for the event in advance. Every year they make announcements regarding the diversion of traffic on different roads.
