Jailed AIADMK leader Sasikala, who is serving a four-year sentence at Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara jail in a disproportionate assets case, was granted a five-day parole to see her ailing husband M Natarajan in Chennai, on 7 October. Sasikala’s parole ended on 11 October, and she departed for Bengaluru Central Jail the next morning.
Sasikala’s former plea for a 15-day parole had been rejected, following which she had applied for emergency parole.

V K Sasikala's five-day parole, to visit her ailing husband M Natarajan in a hospital in Chennai, ended on Wednesday.She left Chennai on Thursday morning for Parappana Agrahara central jail in Bengaluru, reported ANI.
She visited her husband, who underwent liver and kidney transplantation, on all five days of her parole. According to Gleneagles Global Health City, where Natarajan (74) underwent organ transplantation on 4 October and a tracheotomy two days later, is recovering well.

Gleneagles Global Health City Hospital issued a statement saying that Sasikala’s husband, M Natarajan’s condition was stable during the surgery and that he is recovering well in the liver intensive care unit.

Changing her initial plans of flying to Chennai, Sasikala will now travel to Chennai by road.
Coming out of the Bengaluru Central Jail, Sasikala was seen wearing a green saree, in keeping with her party’s colours.

The Quint has learnt that Sasikala is likely to take the Jet Airways 2314 flight at 4:15 pm on Friday and is expected to reach Chennai by 5 pm. She is likely to go to her sister-in-law Ilavarasi's daughter Vishnupriya's house in T Nagar and then go to Gleneagles Global Health City hospital, Perumbakkam to meet her husband.
However, Sasikala is yet to come out of jail. Her air ticket has been booked but whether or not she takes the flight, is yet to be seen.
The Quint has learnt that Sasikala has not been barred from meeting any of her family members, but she will not be allowed to speak to media or engage in political meetings.
Sasikala has been granted five-day emergency parole to visit her ailing husband M Natarajan. However, she had asked for 15 days.

The Quint has learnt that Sasikala will be staying at her sister-in-law Ilavarasi's daughter's house at 181 Habibullah Road in Chennai’s T Nagar, as per her advocate’s claims.
Sasikala’s lawyer told ANI that the jail authorities received an e-mail from the Chennai Police Commissioner agreeing to her parole, albeit with certain conditions.
The Bengaluru Central Prison authorities have begun the formalities for issuing parole for Sasikala, reported The Quint’s Arun Dev.
According to Sasikala’s advocate, no security arrangements have been requested in the parole application. Her advocate told CNN News-18 the same.
