Robert Vadra Taunts Gandhis, Congress, Government; BJP Riled

Numerous allegations have been raised against Robert Vadra for taking advantage of the Gandhi family name.

Robert Vadra, Congress chief Sonia Gandhi’s son-in-law, said on Thursday that he did not need his wife Priyanka Gandhi to “enhance” his life.

I did not need Priyanka to enhance my life. I had enough. I always had enough. My parents gave me enough. I think I was educated enough to understand that I can sustain no matter what comes my way. That is my strength, really.

Vadra ruled out using the Gandhi family name to enter politics. However, he added that he would enter politics if he could make a difference that people would like.

In the same breath, he went on to slam the centre and said that the people are upset and will revolt.

I wish the government the best. But I think people will revolt and understand what is right and wrong. In business people are upset, in real estate people are upset. They will start voicing their opinion soon enough.

He added that the people would soon realise when their day-to-day life was better and they were happy.

As far as communal issues are concerned, we (country) take all religions along. The nation should know the truth about me and I think in time people will know. No matter how much I am humiliated or whatever the government wants to keep on writing or saying.

The businessman’s land deals are being probed by BJP governments in Haryana and Rajasthan.

Congress Mum, BJP Dismissive

Senior Congress leader Anand Sharma refused to answer questions related to Vadra’s statements during an All India Congress Committee (AICC) briefing.

However, the BJP attacked Vadra saying the government was “pro-common man” and the only people feeling the heat were those who had committed “fraud” and made money at the expense of poor farmers.

As far as people’s revolt is concerned, it has already happened. It happened in 2014 when people threw Congress out of the power due to its corruption and mal-governance.

In a reference to Vadra’s other comments, the BJP leader said that Vadra’s attack on BJP was a cover-up against a display of ”his anguish with his in-laws”.

Minister of Commerce and Industry Nirmala Sitharaman did not fail to mention that the that the government has already passed the real estate bill.

It may help him to tell the Congress party to help the government in Parliament to pass bills. It might help him (Vadra) to tell the Congress party that this is what the ground reality and that the party should help the government pass the bills which are critical.

While the BJP reacted sharply, Congress refused to comment on Vadra’s statements.
