Paul Walker, APJ Abdul Kalam and RJ Shubham... all of them died while doing what they loved doing the most.
A look at Shubham’s Facebook timeline and you get to know how popular this 23-year-old radio jockey was in Nagpur.
Shubham was hosting his daily morning show on Radio Mirchi on Thursday morning, when he suddenly felt anxious. Around 9.30am, he was rushed to the nearest hospital, but breathed his last on the way. All of it happened in just 15 minutes. His show was still going live when all of this happened.
His mother is inconsolable. Having lost her husband three years ago, she has refused to believe that her son is no more. She says he is in office and that he would come back home for lunch after completing his popular morning show – ‘Hi Nagpur!’
Success didn’t come easy to Shubham. His background was humble; his family ran a paan shop. He worked hard after his father passed away. When success suddenly made him rich and popular, he remained grounded.
“How can a 23-year-old, healthy boy suddenly die of a heart attack?” That’s the question on top of everyone’s mind. He neither smoked cigarettes nor did he ever drink alcohol. He would occasionally go out with friends to smoke hukka, say people who know him. He didn’t face any kind of professional or financial stress. So what took his life?
That question will probably be answered only after Shubham’s post-mortem report is out. Preliminary report indicates cause of death as case of cardiac arrest. Family members say he had no history of any heart ailment.
Shubham was multi-talented. He would review films, interview celebrities; his mimicry and dubsmashes were super-hit on the internet.
Shubham would say every morning, “Aaaeee Nagpur! Maloom tereko, bahut kuch aata mere ko!” This punchline was popular among his teenage fans, who are going to miss him terribly.
