Relatives of Boy With 12 Fingers & Toes Tried to Kill Him: Parents

The boy’s parents have stopped sending him in school, fearing for his life.

The parents of a boy born with 12 fingers and 12 toes alleged that his relatives were trying to kill him, as a tantrik had told them that sacrificing a child with a “disorder” would make them wealthy, ANI reports. The incident took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki district.

"We have stopped sending him to school. We have sought help from the police also," the boy’s father told ANI, fearing for his son’s safety.

Responding to the parent’s allegations, Circle Officer of Barabanki, Umashankar Singh, said that he had received the complaint and that investigations into the case had begun.

However, he said that he would help with the education of the boy.

"I won't let him stay deprived of education. He is financially weak so I will incurr his educational expenses till I am posted here," said Singh, ANI reported.
