Retired judge and Court Commissioner AKS Pawar reached Sirsa on Thursday for the ‘sanitisation’ of the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters.
Meanwhile, speaking to ANI, Sirsa DC Prabhjot Singh said that there will be no relaxation in the curfew from Friday till the search operation concludes in the area. He added that 41 companies of CAPF, 4 columns of Army and the police force had been deployed.
The Haryana Police has reportedly made all the necessary arrangements for the sanitisation process, which will be undertaken by senior officials of the police and civil administration.
DGP BS Sandhu on Wednesday had said that "as far as our arrangements are concerned, we are prepared (for sanitisation process)".
He said that while the sanitisation process will be overseen by the Court Commissioner, Haryana police personnel, paramilitary forces, duty magistrates, executive magistrates and revenue officials will part of the exercise.
"Anti-sabotage team, dog squad, bomb disposal squad will also be pressed into service to carry out the sanitisation of Dera Sacha Sauda at Sirsa, which is spread over a huge area. The process will be started soon," Sandhu told reporters.
On Tuesday, the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters to be searched under retired judge AKS Pawar as court commissioner.
Dera Spokesperson Vipassana Insan told ANI that the Dera will cooperate with the administration in the search process.
AKS Pawar is to submit the report to the High Court in a sealed envelope.
This comes after a large cache of ammunition was recovered from the headquarters in Sirsa on Monday.
Notably, the Dera premises in Sirsa is spread over nearly 800 acres, and houses educational institutions, markets, hospital, stadium and houses.
The police and the Dera management have maintained that licensed weapons have been deposited by most Dera followers at Sirsa with the police authorities.
