Former Kolkata police commissioner Rajeev Kumar reached the CBI office in Kolkata for questioning in connection with the Saradha chit fund case on Friday, 7 July.

On 27 May, Kumar had skipped a meeting with CBI officials, despite being summoned by the agency for questioning in connection with the chit fund scam.

The ex-police chief, in a letter to the investigative agency, had sought some more time to appear before its officers and had stated that he's on leave. The letter had been delivered by West Bengal CID.
