A Dalit police personnel’s marriage procession was allegedly attacked by members of the Rajput community in Rajasthan’s Dugar village on Saturday, 9 February, reported ANI.
State police have registered a case, and 12 suspects have been booked in connection with the incident, police said.
The report, quoting the groom, said that several people were injured in the attack.
In April 2018, a Dalit groom was attacked for riding a horse in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district. In Uttar Pradesh’s Kasganj last year, Sanjay Jatav became the first Dalit groom in over 80 years to lead a marriage procession.
