Rains Likely to Grace Delhi-NCR on 5 April in a Respite from Heat

The change in climate is being attributed to a cyclonic circulation over central Pakistan, Punjab and Haryana.

Spells of rain and thunderstorm is likely to begin over the Delhi-NCR region from Friday, 6 April onwards, bringing a much-needed respite from the heat, reported Skymet weather.

The weather services agency attributed the change in climate to a ‘cyclonic circulation’ over central Pakistan, Punjab and Haryana. Coupled with a ‘feeble Western disturbance’ over Jammu and Kashmir, prolonged spells of rain can be expected over the capital, Skymet said.

On Thursday, 5 April, temperatures soared in the city, hitting a maximum of 37.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.

The minimum temperature settled at 23.2 degrees Celsius, five notches above the normal, said a Meteorological Department official.

The humidity oscillated between 78 and 27 percent.
