Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, has often been asked a question no adult Indian can escape – shaadi kab karoge? (when will you get married?). This time, this question was fired from Olympic medalist Vijender Singh at the PHD Annual Awards for Excellence.
Gandhi took the question the way it was meant – in good humour. "Jab hogi, hogi (It will happen when it happens). I believe in destiny," Gandhi quipped.
In a friendly Q and A session, Gandhi was accosted by the boxer, who asked him two questions: 1) What would you do for sports if you became Prime Minister? 2) When will you get married?
To Singh's first question, Gandhi responded:
When Singh suggested Gandhi put up a video to inspire people, Gandhi laughed, saying, “Fine... I will...”
Gandhi made a speech at the event about a strong comeback of his party, and added that a new Congress government "would be a much more decentralised government" than the previous UPA government.
