Rahul Gandhi will be in Gujarat from 5 to 8 December to campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections. In his last leg of campaigning before the first phase of polls in the BJP-ruled state, Gandhi will address various public meetings and rallies.
On Tuesday, 5 December, he visited Anjar, where he lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not talking about the “future of Gujarat”.
Gujarat Assembly elections are scheduled to be held on 9 and 14 December.
Posters were seen in Surat, on Thursday, calling on Muslims to unite and support Congress leader Ahmed Patel in becoming the ‘Wazir-e-Alam’ of Gujarat.
Calling it BJP’s work, Patel said he’s not the CM candidate for Congress.
The Congress on Tuesday, 5 December, cancelled Rahul Gandhi’s events at Morbi and Surendranagar due to “bad weather conditions”.
His schedule for 6 December has also been suspended while the party scion’s events for 7 December have been shifted to 8 December.

The Congress vice president, whose elevation to party president is imminent after he filed his nomination papers on Monday, 4 December, has spearheaded the Grand Old Party’s Gujarat campaign. In the last two months, he has lashed out heavily at the incumbent BJP, and interacted with traders, businessmen, tribals, Dalits, and Patidars.
Gandhi-led Congress has also formed an alliance with local leaders like Hardik Patel and Alpesh Thakur.
The party also released its manifesto for Gujarat on Monday, 4 December. 'Special category' quota for weaker communities with similar rights enjoyed by OBCs, farm loan waiver, setting up 'Indira canteens' to provide nutritious food for labourers at Rs 10, are some of its highlights.
