Six Delhi police personnel, including Vivek Vihar SHO Sanjay Verma, were reportedly shunted out on 5 October, after a video surfaced of the policemen according a special welcome to self-styled godwoman Radhe Maa.

In a photo that surfaced, the self-proclaimed religious leader was seen occupying the SHO’s seat at the Vivek Vihar police station while an official, purported to be the SHO, can be seen standing next to her with folded hands and a chunri around his neck.

Policemen at GTB Enclave were seen dancing and singing with Radhe Maa in a video.

A detailed probe has been ordered into the unprofessional conduct of these police personnel. Vivek Vihar SHO Verma and five policemen of GTB Enclave Police Station were reportedly sent to district lines over the incident.

Who is Radhe Maa?

In September, a Mumbai court rejected Radhe Maa’s discharge application in a dowry case. The court said the self-styled godwoman was directly connected to the case, under which she faces charges under Section 298A based on a complaint by a 32-year-old woman who alleged that the godwoman influenced her in-laws to demand dowry.
