In an incident reminiscent of the recent Salt Lake gangrape in Kolkata, a 25-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and gangraped in a moving car in New Delhi’s Vasant Vihar area.
Delhi police filed a case after the victim lodged a complaint, on Thursday.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the alleged rape.

An Indian Police Services officer succumbed to a bullet injury under mysterious circumstances in Paderu, Andhra Pradesh.
The sound of a bullet was heard from his chamber early on Thursday morning, after which he was found with a bullet in his right temple. He was rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to his injuries midway.
The Assistant Superintendent of Police from IPS 2012 batch at Paderu might have shot himself, though there is no clarity on it yet, say police sources.

A woman from a village near Thane allegedly committed suicide after being harassed by her husband and in-laws for giving birth to daughters, Police said on Thursday.
Ranjana Kashinath Thombre ended her life by jumping in a well on Wednesday on due to alleged torture and frequent harassment by her husband and in-laws over dowry and not being able to bear a son.
Three have been booked so far under relevant sections of the IPC, with no arrests being made yet.

A 38-year-old businessman was strangled to death by robbers who barged into the family’s Bungalow in Chattarpur Farms, South Delhi on Thursday, Times of India reports.
The robbers sedated the guards and the victim’s parents using chloroform, and choked the victim to death while trying to sedate him too.
The robbers seemingly had knowledge of the movements of the victims, and were all from Muzzafarpur in Bihar. All five have been arrested by the police.
The 17-year-old daughter of a senior Naval officer posted in Visakhapatnam has gone missing from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad on Thursday, says a PTI report.
Kairavi Sharma, daughter of Arvind Sharma, studied in Pune and had recently completed her XI standard.
She was on her way back to Pune from Visakhapatnam on 14 June via Hyderabad when she got down at the airport and has been missing since then, said a police inspector.
Kairavi’s mobile phone is switched off, he said, adding that an investigation is on.
A Sarpanch and a police officer were on Thursday arrested in separate cases of graft by the Anti-Corruption Bureau in Rajasthan, said a PTI report.
Shishupal, the Sarpanch of Tatasar Gram Panchayat of Sriganganagar district was arrested for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs10,000 to issue a revised lease deed for a plot.
In Sawaimadhopur district, Assistant Sub Inspector Jokha Ram posted with Chauth Ka Barwara was caught by the ACB team of allegedly taking the bribe of Rs 8,000.
Both the accused have been placed under arrest under the prevention of corruption act.

A police team in Moga, Punjab was allegedly attacked on Thursday by up to 12 accomplices of a drug smuggler who was in police custody, reports PTI.
A team from the Narcotic Cell of Punjab police on Thursday arrested smuggler Baljit Singh after conducting raid at his house in Dolewala village area, where they also seized 20 gms of heroin from his possession. Accomplices of Baljit Singh showed up and overpowered the team, taking him away forcibly.
A case has been registered against 12 persons, they said, adding that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused.
A bomb was hurled by unidentified people at the residence of a college professor in Moirang on Thursday, near Imphal, said a PTI report.
The bomb exploded at the residence of Assistant Professor M Jugindro (57) of Moirang college at about 2.45 AM, a police official said.
Although nobody was injured, the house was partly damaged in the blast, he added.
Mumbai police on Wednesday night arrested three men in Vasai area of Mumbai for allegedly gangraping and detaining a 14-year-old girl illegally, according to a Mumbai Mirror report.
The victim, who fled her home in Solapur, met one of the accused and was lured with a promise for a job. The three accused simultaneously raped her for over three weeks until she was finally able to get the story out to a neighbour, who informed the police.
The trio, all daily-wage labourers, have been arrested and medical reports of the victim are awaited.
